Ph. Vasily Prudnikov

Gabriele Lentini is an Italian photographer, born in Palermo in 1963. After a classical education and legal studies, he devoted himself entirely to photography and video.
His work spans documentary photography and personal artistic research. It often develops through a sustained relationship with people and places: through immersion and direct participation, Lentini explores photography beyond its role as testimony, seeking a space of presence within the image.
The human figure, gesture, light and what remains invisible are recurring elements in his work. Black-and-white and colour photography are treated as complementary languages, chosen according to the nature of each project.
A member of the Russian Union of Art Photographers, he has exhibited his work in museums and international exhibition spaces. His photographs have been published by National Geographic, GEO and Phototecnica. The series La Mattanza is part of the permanent collection of the Guttuso Museum – Villa Cattolica in Bagheria.
