Alongside her sculptural practice, Gabriella Furno pursues a pictorial investigation centred on the movement of the body. In her works on canvas and paper, the dancers’ gestures become line, rhythm, gravity and colour, creating a continuous passage between two and three dimensions. Painting thus retains a sculptural imprint and conveys the subject’s energy in space.
