IN PRISON TO SERVE GOD
For more than forty years, the community of the Francescani Rinnovati has lived in cloistered seclusion at the summit of a mountain in the heart of the town, within a building that over the centuries served as a castle and an inaccessible medieval prison. The name of the order already expresses the profound meaning of a life devoted to prayer, following only the authentic path of the Saint of Assisi. The very choice of what was once a place of suffering—still visible in the traces left by the original doors of the medieval cells—allows, through the power of true prayer, a profound catharsis to take place for the benefit of the community and society as a whole.
